2012 Annual Meeting
The following links contain information about the 2012 Georgia Chapter SWCS Meeting, being held in conjunction with the Alabama and Florida chapters, 23-25 May 2012 at Lakepoint State Park Resort in Eufala AL.
The theme of this year's meeting is "Water Conservation, Not Water Wars: A Tri-State Perspective".
Streambank Restoration Project
See this link (Streambank Project) to read about the restoration of a North Georgia stream from a collaborative private-government partnership. The Soque Partnership, in cooperation with the North Carolina State University Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, will host a stream restoration workshop and riparian vegetation planting at 4382 Hwy. 115 West Demorest, GA (approximately 3 miles West of downtown Clarkesville on Hwy. 115) on Tuesday, December 13 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Please plan to meet at 12:45 in the parking lot behind the Habersham County Courthouse at the Agricultural Service Center (555 Monroe St, Clarkesville) to arrange for carpooling to the site, where parking is limited.
